  • chibi DR-DOS-tan and QDOS-tan

This is a remaster of C-chan's last preconcept chibi drawing in this format, featuring the debuts of DRDOS-tan (aka, CP/M-tan, DOS Plus-tan, OpenDOS-tan) and QDOS-tan (or 86-DOS-tan, not to be confused with the true Sinclair QDOS).

As is usual with these remasters, the heads and eyes have been modernized, the strokes throughout the body cleaned out, and some extra details enhanced (e.g., the chrome on the combination wrench). The medically-inspired random background I added also uses techniques employed in some wallpapers.

The mother of the x86 DOS line, DRDOS-tan is the oldest, wisest(?) and tallest of the DOS-tans, though her petit child-type physique (at 146cm) is not drastically different from that of most of her daughters. A former career woman, she rarely had contact with any of her daughters (and in fact scorned QDOS, PCDOS and MSDOS for years after they were born), opting instead to commit herself entirely to her company. But countless company transitions, career paths and name aliases later, she has finally settled down to a less stressful life and reacquainted herself with her children. She works as a doctor -- a Hippocratic one specifically for the vintage-tans she lives with, but a very EXPENSIVE one for everyone else -- failing to realize that the "DR" in her name stands for something else entirely. While she's excellent in her practice, she's not adverse to using her skills as "punishment" either. Usually laid-back and irreverent, she betrays a more maternal side when in the presence of her daughters, particular QDOS-tan who has unknowingly suffered the most from her absence in her life.

QDOS-tan was originally adopted by the early Microsoft Family (when it was only Xenix-sama and the occasional visit by Altair-sama), and was very grateful of it being a premature and incomplete OS-tan with an uncertain future. She lived in the premises long enough to have two additional "sisters" (PCDOS and MSDOS) cloned from her genes -- after that, she was promptly abandoned to fend for herself. Despite being stuck with the cognitive abilities of a small child, she nevertheless survived in a junkyard and grew up to become a miracle mechanic. Her tiny size and innate fearlessness allows her to get inside any machine and get it working, although often through the addition of very crude replacement components. Mentally incapable of feeling hate, she has nothing but adoration for her sisters and her mother, and has been in perpetual bliss after being reunited with them.
