This is the finalized version of Bella's birthday present -- even though she got the unshaded draft just in the nick of time, i still consider this a "belated" birthday present. ^^'

In addition to a birthday present, this is also a morale booster for Bella as her recent XP laptop succumbed to what I suspect from the description is the Downadup/Conflickr worm. What could have been a tragic loss of data ended up being another success story with Puppy Linux, as she used its LiveCD to boot her machine outside of Windows, and extract all her personal files therein. Now that she's free to reinstall Windows (or perhaps even remove the infection), she's also now seriously contemplating a dual-boot with Ubuntu to serve as a very effective backup OS in case of future infections.

Thus, to commemorate this small bit of tech heroism, this drawing features a bed-ridden but recovering XP-tan being cared for by a genuinely-concerned Puppy Linux-chan and Ubuntu-tan. Even though the common mis-perception is that these systems should be "rivals", the truth is, as the story above illustrates, they really should be able to compliment each other beautifully. Having knowledge of more than one operating system is an invaluable skill that not only enhances your personal resourcefulness, but also increases your options for data recovery and security.

Both Puppy and Ubuntu-tan are drawn using Bella's own variations of their clothing and hair styles (bearing in mind, though, that Ubuntu-chan also has her own custom-made kitchen apron on too). ^__^
